Terms of use
Nothing is hosted, no account exists and no money changes hands, which keeps this short.
Your photographs
They stay yours. Nothing here takes a licence to anything, because nothing here receives anything. What you open and what you save are both on your own device.
What is on offer
A page that works, most of the time, in a current browser, for free, with no warranty of any kind. Use it on a copy rather than on the only version of a photograph you care about.
The specific ways this can fail you
- A tab can run out of memory on a very large file and take the work with it.
- A fill can produce a smear that looks acceptable at fitted size and obvious at full size.
- A browser can decline to write a file at all, and there is nothing this page can do about that.
- The check that refuses an oversized patch is a threshold, so it will occasionally refuse something that would have worked and occasionally allow something that will not.
- Colour is handled as sRGB, so a wide-gamut file comes back a little less saturated than it went in.
Fair use
Do not use this page on a photograph you have no right to alter, and do not present an altered photograph as an unaltered one where that matters — evidence, journalism, insurance, a listing someone will buy from.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, nothing is owed for loss of data, loss of time or a result you did not want. That is the usual position for a free utility and it is stated here rather than assumed.
