The order for a passport photo
- Open the photo. It starts in Finish with India passport, 630 × 810 px, selected; choose US visa if that is the form.
- Move and size the crop so the face sits between the two dashed ovals.
- If the photo is crooked, use the straighten dial or the reading beside it. If it is dark, raise brightness a little.
- Tick the checklist honestly, then save. The file is written at exactly the preset's pixel size.
| Preset | Pixels | File | Face |
|---|---|---|---|
| India passport | 630 × 810 | — | 80–85 % of the photo |
| US visa (2 × 2 in) | 600 × 600 to 1200 × 1200 | JPEG, 240 kB or less | Head 50–69 % of the height |
Locked here: spot, heal stroke, patch, red-eye, smoothing and every colour control. Allowed: crop, straighten, brightness and contrast. Never “accepted”, “compliant” or “approved” — this tool sizes a file.

Questions about passport photos
- Can I remove red eye or blemishes?
- Not on this page, and the lock says why. The Indian passport specification says photos should be unaltered by computer software and that illumination shall not cause red-eye; the US rules say a photo must not be digitally enhanced or altered to change your appearance. A red-eye photo should be retaken. Framing and exposure — crop, straighten, brightness, contrast — are allowed here; check the current rules if unsure.
- Can it give me a white background?
- No. Replacing a background is an alteration, and it is outside what this tool does. Photograph against a plain white or very light wall, in even light, so there is no shadow behind the head.
- Will it be accepted?
- This page cannot say, and never will. It sizes the file and the crop exactly to the published numbers and shows the face proportion; the passport office or the visa system decides. The checklist under the preset is yours to tick.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- Each preset names the official page it was read from and the date. They are also gathered, with links, in Passport and exam photo rules in India.
