Nothing to hand?

A drawing, not a photograph. Drag the seam: a speck of sensor dust in the sky, something dark pressed against the top border, the lower left corner sitting in shade — one tap each, and the one at the border only shows with the seam pushed right.

What is wrong with it?

Optional — the uploader works without it. It takes about five seconds and can save you a tap you would have undone.

Square, centred, then everything else

This page opens in Finish with the square crop set and centred on the part of the photo whose colours read as skin. That is a colour count, not a face detector: on a warm background it can centre on the wrong place, and you drag the crop where it belongs.

The other steps are one click away: tap a spot or red eye in Fix, press Auto in Light, smooth a little in Detail. Related: Selfie editor, Straighten a photo.

Questions about profile pictures

Which size should I use?
Most places that show a profile picture show it square, so start with Square. Each site sets its own pixel size and changes it from time to time, so check the size the site asks for; Finish prints the exact size this file will be before you save.
My profile picture is shown as a circle.
Then keep the face in the middle of the square with some space around it: the corners of the square are cut off by the circle. This page crops square; it does not preview the circle yet.
Can I get exact pixels?
The Save as panel shows the output width and height in pixels as you drag the crop. The output is the crop of the full-resolution photo, so a larger crop gives more pixels.
