What this is

One page with four fixes on it. You tap a place; a small disc around that place is rebuilt from the picture beside it, or brightened, or the whole frame is turned once. Six taps per photograph. Then it stops.

There is no account, no queue and no second screen. The file you open is decoded by the browser you are already using and never travels.

The ceiling, and why it is the product

Every feature request this page will ever get is a request to remove the ceiling. Let me set the size. Let me draw round it. Let me run it again on the same spot. Each of those is reasonable on its own and each of them, granted, turns this into a region tool that happens to have started small.

So the ceiling is written into the code rather than into an intention. Six is counted before a tap is accepted. Ground that has already been fixed refuses a second tap. The fill itself reports when the thing under it carries on past the disc, and that report rolls the fix back rather than shrugging.

• No size, hardness, feather, opacity or strength.
• No lasso, rectangle, source point or editable mask.
• No layer list, no blend mode, no history to scrub.
• No control that applies to the whole frame at once, and no named preset.

What it is built on

A static site with no server behind it. The fixes are arithmetic in a background thread: a search for matching patches over a bounded tile, a tone curve with a cosine falloff, and a rotation with an inward crop. There is no model, nothing to download and nothing to agree to before a tap does something.

That last point is worth stating plainly, because several neighbouring tools cannot make it. Opening this page fetches no weights and shows no consent panel. The one thing that ever arrives on demand is a decoder for HEIC, and only if a HEIC is opened.

Where it stops

Anything large enough to need a region drawn round it belongs to pictureeraser.com. Work on a person belongs to retouchpicture.com. A frame that is wrong from corner to corner belongs to enhancepic.com. Damage on a scanned print belongs to repairimage.com. None of those boundaries is a temporary state of affairs.

This page is also honest about its own position. The words people type to get here are ambiguous, and a fair share of the people who type them want one of the four programs above rather than this one. The routing lines above the stage cost sessions on purpose.
